Pink mosque symbolizing peace. Christians built a mosque of pink color for Muslims in the Philippines. Pink Mosque, or Masjid Dimaukom, was built in 2014 in the municipality of Datu Saudi Ampatuan (province of Maguindanao, Philippines) to the beginning of the month of Ramadan. According to the mayor Samsodin Dimaukom, on whose initiative the mosque was built, the pink color of the building represents peace, love and understanding. Also pink – a favorite color of his wife. The land where the mosque was built was a property of the mayor’s family. The mosque was built by Christian workers, which also intended to symbolize the unity and inter-religious brotherhood. By order of the mayor, in pink have been repainted the mayor’s office, police stations, markets and other buildings.
